Christian Fellowship Church of the Philippines – November 2012 News Update

“Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever.  As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds His people, both now  and forevermore.”  Ps 125:1,2

We’re so happy for the powerful move of the Holy Spirit in the churches here in the Philippines!  God is pouring out revival among His people in these last days!  We had a good semi-annual convention in Binalbagan, western Negros, on October 15-17, with sweet fellowship among the pastors and a good move of the Holy Spirit.  The pastors from eastern Negros drove over the mountains to Binalbagan, a long five-hour trip due to bad roads.  Thankfully, everyone arrived safely.  The trip was well-worth it, with a nice refreshing in spirit for everyone.  The mountain pastors from western Negros attended and it was a time of refreshing and joy!
The Bible school was on one month break between first and second semesters and the students went home to minister in their home churches.  They were excited to be used by God in bringing His Word!  The second semester will start November 5 here in the Dumaguete Christian Fellowship School of Ministry.  Thank you for your prayers for the ministry here.
The new churches being pioneered are going on and progressing.  Another newly opened church is in the village of Solonggan, La Libertad, in north eastern Negros Island.  The Bible studies are being held in the Solonngan barangay hall, a local version of the town hall.  The local village head is Mr Gargoles and he’s helping the church to be established.  There are now 30 people who have accepted the Lord here!  This village suffered a disastrous landslide last February 6 when the 7.0 magnitude quake hit the area.  Twenty people were killed in the landslide.  Please help pray for all the new pioneering works in different places.

Thank you so much and God bless you more abundantly!

     Yours in Christ,

October 2012 Third Quarter Christian Fellowship Church News Update

“Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth; worship the Lord with gladness, come before him with joyful songs.” Ps. 100:1,2

It’s a joy to worship the Lord with joyful hearts and we offer them up to Him! We’re happy to share victories once more!

We are always praising the Lord for the good things He is doing in our Negros Island churches. We have new pioneering churches in Busay, Liko and Danao in the Guihulngan area about 100 kilometers north of here. Busay and Danao are mountain villages and can be reached by a dirt bike and then walking the last few miles. Only the village of Liko is accessible by car since it’s along the beach. Thankfully, the owner of the land donated the church lots for Busay and Danao. The members built wood plank buildings with tin roofs as their places of worship. Thank God they are encouraged and strong in serving God! Now they’re reaching out to win souls!

Villages in southern Negros Island are also being penetrated to pioneer new churches. Baican and Cansiang are two mountain villages in southern Negros that have newly pioneered works.

Our faithful pastor in the south district is conducting a monthly Bible training in the Danao village church, deep in the mountains. Lay workers attend there for additional Bible training.

The Christian Fellowship School of Ministry here in Dumaguete City is going on and we’re happy to invest in training these young people who will be our future pastors. In addition to their regular classes, they have been enjoying special speakers from time to time who encourage and strengthen them in their calling. May God equip them for the ministry! Amen!

We’ll be having our National Semi-annual Pastors Convention hosted by the Christian Fellowship Church in Binalbagan, in western Negros, on October 15-17. To reach there, we have to travel over the high mountain range that divides Negros Island into east and west. The mountain road going there has steep, drop-away cliffs and landslides caused by the heavy monsoon rains. But the trip offers a great panoramic view of the lush, green mountains! We’re believing for a great convention there!
Please see the latest attached picture of our Bible students!

Thank you for your prayers for all the ministry here. God bless you!
