Christian Fellowship Church, August 2013 Update

“Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart.” Ps 37:4.  Greetings in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
It is a delight to serve the Lord and minister to His people, while at the same time to win souls for Him!  We are happy for all our pastors and workers who are serving so diligently and doing a great job!  New daughter churches are opening up in different towns and villages.
In my last letter, I mentioned that we have a new church congregation starting in the town of Siaton, an hour’s drive south of Dumaguete City.  The ministry is progressive there with the help of two of our Bible students.  We also have a new congregation in the city of Canlaon, some four hours drive north of here, and two Bible school interns are there, as well.
During just the past few weeks a new group has started meeting in the village of Kalomboyan, Bayawan, in southern Negros.  This village is named after a tree, the “lomboy” tree.  In season that tree has a delicious sweet fruit, resembling black cherries!  This month, we have assigned a lay preacher to stay with the new church there.  This young man is also one of our Bible school interns!
We’re thankful for the Bible school students who recently had their mid-term exams, marking their half-way point through the semester that runs from June to October.  May God call more young people to study and be trained for ministry!  The doors for evangelism are open everywhere!
We’ve been having several tropical storms and very heavy rains in recent weeks.  This month I visited the church in Guihulngan City, traveling by bus north up the coast.  A few miles before reaching Guihulngan, a bridge had been washed out from heavy rains and floods the week before.  The river was impassable by any vehicle!  So we got down from our bus and walked a narrow plank across the river to the other side!  The coconut wood plank was so slippery from the rains and I was grateful to make it across!  On the other side we rode another bus to our destination!
Thank you for your prayers and God bless you!
Yours in Christ,
Benito and June Pacleb
