Christmas Greetings from Christian Fellowship Church of the Philippines

“Do not be afraid.  I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.  Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you, He is Christ the Lord!”  Luke 2:10, 11.

Pastor Benito and June Pacleb and all of our fellowship pastors here in the Philippines wish to greet you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!  May you have a wonderful holiday season with family and friends and may God pour out many rich blessings in the upcoming new year!

Looking back, it has been a great year and we look forward to a wonderful and fruitful year to come!  You are such a blessing to us and we are so glad you have a part in the ministry here in the Islands.  Thank you so much!  God bless you!

Great Door Ministries – December 2013 Newletter

Kristen, Jes and Kelsey inside our classroom at Roca Blanca Spanish Language School.
We have been blessed to be here, but WE ARE READY to come home! See you soon!

“For I know very well the plans I have for you, says the Lord…”

Isn’t God interesting??

We have plans and God has plans…and God’s plans always win. Jes and I were hoping to spend up to one month in Cuba this coming February serving the church there and continuing to work on our language acquisition. The visas we get from Cuba are usually good for just thirty days. BUT GOD has given us great favor!

Now it looks like we will head to Havana at the end of January, Jes will stay for one month,
returning in late February to start back to work in March and I will be allowed to stay for up to three months!
Believe me when I tell you that this is a miracle and a huge blessing.
God is moving and we are just trying to keep up with Him!

During our time in Cuba we will be serving our church there (Los Pinos Nuevo) in a variety of ways by helping with our feeding and evangelism program for the elderly, by translating documents and letters for the church from Spanish to English, by connecting with other pastors on the Island for future ministry, teaching English and anything else that Pastor Pachy finds for us to do.
We will also be constantly working on our Spanish. Language acquisition is a LONG and arduous process! So being completely immersed there with our Cuban brothers and sisters and being able to continue studying Spanish there will be a huge help.

We also will have a team from Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Omaha coming to serve in Havana in mid-February! Then in early March we may a have another team traveling from Omaha to be with us in Havana…more details to come on that team as it gets confirmed. We would love to have another team in mid to late-March as well. (wanna go??)

So our plans (as of right now) look like this:

Leave Cacalotepec, Oaxaca, Mexico somewhere around the 17th or 18th of December for the 6 day drive home to Omaha.

Spend about 1 month is Omaha working on ministry stuff and visiting (and eating!).

Jes and I both will be in Cuba for the month of February. Jes will head home at the end of February to start back to work and I will stay on there for up to three months. (YES, that is a long time to be separated…)

We are praying for God’s guidance and perfect will in every aspect and every moment of what we are doing, where we are and for His time table for us.

Just wanted to share this quick update! Thank you for praying, thank you for giving, thank you for sacrificing with us for the cause of Christ in Cuba!

We have only TWO WEEKS left of our classes at Roca Blanca Language School!

See you soon and MUCH love,

Jes and Kristen
